This website presents an overview of European spa towns.
It is part of a master's thesis in the field of Digital Humanities at the University of Vienna.
The goal is to make this information accessible for scholars, local communities, and visitors interested in the cultural and historical context of spa towns.
The data presented is based on the dataset created within The European Spa project (2019-2022). The project team kindly allowed for their data to be used for this website.
The code for this website is available GitHub. As the site launched in February 2026, the dataset contained 408 spa towns.
Over time the initial dataset will be expanded upon, especially regarding Kurlisten (spa guest lists) data from various spa towns. Contributions are welcome (see "Contact").
